About the role
Field Officer, focusing on disaster & quick response effort plays a crucial role in on-the-ground operations during crises. They are responsible for coordinating with local authorities, assessing the immediate needs of affected communities, and ensuring that resources and aid provided through crowdfunding efforts reach those in need and providing real-time updates to donors and the platform team.
Job Description:
1. Act as the primary on-the-ground representative during disaster or crisis situations, coordinating and overseeing relief efforts in affected areas.
2. Conduct rapid needs assessments to determine the immediate requirements of communities affected by disasters or emergencies.
3. Facilitate the swift delivery of aid and resources funded through the platform, ensuring that donations are distributed effectively and equitably.
4. Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, volunteers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to organize and implement disaster response initiatives.
5. Provide regular, real-time updates to the crowdfunding platform team and donors regarding the progress of relief efforts and the impact of donations.
Requirements & Qualifications
1. 2-4 years of experience in field operations, humanitarian work, disaster response, or emergency relief, preferably with a non-profit organization.
2. Proven track record of working in high-pressure, disaster-affected environments with demonstrated success in delivering aid.
3. Experience in coordinating with local authorities, NGOs, and community organizations during crisis situations.
4. Quick-thinking and solution-oriented, with the ability to adapt plans as situations change on the ground.
5. Strong understanding of safety protocols, risk management, and compliance in high-risk environments.
6. Additional certifications or training in disaster response, emergency management, or first aid are advantageous.
